How to choose the hardness of your sex toy

The hardnesses we offer in our silicone toys

One of the most important criteria in the choice of silicone sex toys is hardness. It will affect the usability of the final product, as well as the feel to the touch provided by the toy. So, choosing the right hardness is key.

We work with the following hardnesses :

  • Hard (~15A)

  • Medium (~10A)

  • Soft (~5A)

  • Extra soft (00-20) - only for masturbators

By default, we make each toy with a specific hardness. It can be personalized but, there are some restrictions beyond which we cannot go. Basically, the bigger the toy, the softer the maximum hardness we can use. For instance, the Hard one (15A) can not be used for very big toys (i.e. Huge Ork, Gargantuan Ogre Dragon, Huge Werewolf). On the other hand, Extra soft is reserved exclusively for masturbators.

The meaning of each hardness

Before having it in the hand, the best way to understand how hard something is, by comparing it with known objects. The hardness of our silicone is around the hardness of our bodies, that's why they feel so realistic.

So, let’s compare the hardness of our silicone with the hardness of our bodies.

In the following graph, we have a scale (from 0 to 90 A) showing how much hard are different body parts (on the softest region, on the left) and several other objects (on the right). Have a look:

Now, with respect to our silicone, extra soft and soft feel like a fatty belly, the difference we made between them is that we use the former for dildos and the latter for masturbators.

Medium feel like a relaxed muscle, with some resistance to bending.

The hard, like a tensed muscle, feels quite firm and, being difficult to bend, doesn’t bend much.

Mind that, the thicker is the toy, the harder the feeling: the bigger toys will always feel harder. That is partially the reason why we don't make all sizes in all possible hardness, the big ones become just too rigid (both to be used and to take out of the moulds!).
