Monolith

They did not grow from the earth.

They arrived.

Ancient records speak of a night when the sky went silent—no wind, no birds, no ocean sound—only a low hum that crawled through bone. By dawn, a crystal spire stood where nothing had been before: faceted, impossibly smooth, and warm as living skin despite the cold air around it.

The elders called it a Monolith, but those who got close enough learned a truer name.

A conduit.

It pulses with a gentle, hypnotic rhythm, as if it is listening… and responding. Not to words, but to intention. To craving. To the electric spark that builds in the body when anticipation turns into need. Some swear the Monolith brightens when touched—its inner glow sharpening, its edges catching light that isn’t there, as though it draws energy from whoever dares to hold it.

In the ruins where it was first found, strange markings were carved into the surrounding stone: symbols of alignment, devotion, surrender. It was said that travellers used the Monolith in rituals not of worship, but of attunement—a way to synchronise breath, body, and desire with something vast and alien.

The Monolith does not seduce like flesh.

It commands.

It is steady. Unmoving. Patient.

And when it is in your grasp, it feels as though gravity itself shifts—pulling you closer, making you want to press in deeper, to explore each facet, each angle, each sharp-edged promise.

Not because it forces you.

Because it knows what you want before you do.
